Master of Science in Information Technology Management (MSITM) Areas of Focus

Data Management and Business Analytics

Purpose of the track: To expose students to the various methods, tools and techniques used in the collection, storage, and analysis of large volumes of data. The courses in this track focus on data modeling, database design, database tuning, data warehousing, decision support, business data analysis, enterprise data management, etc.

Skills: Database Design, Data Warehouse Design, Data Modeling, Data Analysis, Business Intelligence

IS Networking and Security

Purpose of the track: To expose students to the various methods, tools and techniques used in designing and managing IS networks and properly securing them. The networking courses in this track focus on network modeling, design of local area networks and wide area networks, internet, intranet and extranet, network monitoring, analysis and management, troubleshooting, network performance, the impact of communications and technology on organizations, and the latest trends in the telecommunications. The security courses focus on cryptography, analysis of threats, vulnerability and risk assessment, identification and authentication, certificates, credentials, and organizational security policies.

Skills: Network Design and Management, Troubleshooting, Network Performance Evaluation and Tuning, Vulnerability and Risk Assessment, Intrusion Detection, Design and Implementation of Security Policies and Tools, Network Disaster Recovery and Business Continuity

IS Strategy and Management

Purpose of the track: To educate students in IT planning, Information Systems Security, Project Management, IT Sourcing, Network Management, and other related topics.

Skills: Knowledge and Application of IT Project Management Tools and Techniques, Foundations to Manage Globally Sourced IT Projects, Developing an IT Strategy, Developing a Security Policy for Organizations, Developing a Privacy Policy for Organizations
