Master of Accounting
Admission to the Master of Accounting Program is selective and depends on several elements, including scholarship and ability to communicate effectively. Before an applicant can be admitted to the Master of Accounting Program, he/she must have completed:
Application Requirements
- Apply Online Graduate - Masters application
- SBA supplemental application
- Official transcripts from all previous colleges and universities attended
- Official transcripts providing evidence of an earned baccalaureate degree
- Official GMAT scores
- Two Recommendation Forms
International students:
- Transcript evaluation (for degrees earned from a college or university outside of the United States)
- Proof of English language proficiency
- International supplemental application and supporting documents
MAcc Program Prerequisites
Before an applicant can be admitted to the MAcc program, they must demonstrate proficiency or complete coursework in the following areas:
- ACC 200 - Introductory Financial Accounting
- ACC 210 - Management and Cost Accounting I
- ACC 310 - Intermediate Financial Accounting I
- ACC 311 - Intermediate Financial Accounting II
- ACC 320 - Management and Cost Accounting II
- college course in micro or macro economics
Applicants are required to have minimum proficiency in personal computing skills (i.e., word processing and spreadsheets). Applicants deemed deficient in this area may be required to complete a self-study course in computer workstation skills.
Admission Deadlines
All application materials must be received by:
- July 15 for the fall semester
- November 1, for the winter semester
- March 15 for the summer semester
* Deadlines for international students are May 1 for the fall semester and September 1 for the winter semester.
Graduate Assistantship applications for fall semester must be received by:
- February 1 - international students seeking an F-1 visa
- May 1 - all other applicants
Applications are considered by the Accounting Graduate Admissions Committee. In making admission recommendations, the admissions committee assesses the potential of applicants for success in the master's program by examining their undergraduate records, their GMAT scores, their responses to questions on the supplemental application and their work experience.
