Collaborations
COLLABORATIVE PROJECTS
1. In collaboration with Prof. Melkov from Kiev University, Ukraine we observed and theoretically described the effect of non-adiabatic
interaction of a spin wave pulse with strongly localized (localization length is of the order of the pulse carrier frequency wavelength). In
that case TWO (contra-propagating and co-propagating) parametric "idle" wave packets are formed as a result of parametric interaction with
pumping. Interference of the amplified input pulse with co-propagating "idle" wave packet leads to the amplitude and phase modulation of the output signal. The work was presented at the ICM-2000 International Conference on Magnetism in Recife, Brazil in August 2000. The paper is being prepared for submission to the Phys.Rev. Lett. in October 2000.
2. In collaboration with Dr. Benner from Darmstadt Technical University I worked on the problem of the influence of initial signal phase on the
process of dark spin wave soliton formation in magnetic films. A paper is being prepared for the submission to the Phys.Rev. B.
3. In collaboration with Prof. Hillebrands from the University of Kaiserslautern I did numerical calculations and planned the
experiment in which the interaction of two-dimensional nonlinear spin wave packets (spin wave "bullets") with localized parametric pumping
will be studied by means of space- and time-resolved Brillouin light scattering. The paper on the preliminary numerical investigations of
this effect is being prepared for publication in J.Appl.Phys.
4. In collaboration with Dr. Guslienko from the Korean Institute of Advanced Studies, Seoul, South Korea I derived the explicit expressions
for tensorial magnetostatic Green's functions for the case of a rectangular prism, and calculated the spectrum of spin waves in an
isolated non-ellipsoidal rectangular magnetic dot. These calculations allowed us to explain the experiments performed in permalloy magnetic
dots by the group of Prof. Hillebrands from the Kaiserslautern
University, Kaiserslautern, Germany. These results were reported at the
16th International Colloquium on Magnetic Films and Surfaces (ICMFS),
Natal, Brazil, August 2000.
