Pre-Business Community
Education doesn’t stop at the classroom. Housing offers a living and learning community designed to ease the transition into college for first year students and enhance each student’s chance for success in the School of Business Administration.

The School of Business Administration and University Housing invites you to Learn the ABCs of Business. “A Business Community,” or “ABC” is a living and learning community designed to ease the transition into college for first year students and enhance each student’s chance for success in the School of Business Administration.

Through residential living, students from multiple backgrounds will engage in business partnership and dialogue.  Through interactions with business  professionals, alumni, and Oakland campus members, students partaking in this program will gain insights into the business school as well as the world of work.

Some of the opportunities available to members of ABC include: guest speakers, networking with alumni, an introduction to the functional areas of business to assist in choosing a business major, one-on-one contact with SBA Scholars, peer advisers, and academic advisers, exposure to entrepreneurial principles, recreational activities and community service projects.  It is through this integration of learning and living that students obtain a well-rounded first year experience.

What are the Advantages?
  • Provide first-year students with an intergraded academic, practical and experiential residential learning opportunity where they can explore all sides of being a business major.
  • Engage students with local business leaders through programs and other opportunities designed to enhance the undergraduate experience.
