Courses are available for four and/or six credits, depending on the class.
OU offers two and additional four-credit, elective classes at various locations for educators, administrators and counseling professionals. |
EST 651: Reseach and Theory of Brain-Based Learning
This interactive course with Dr. Jerry Evanski, author of Classroom Activators, offers a variety of hands-on learning activities and practical strategies for creating a high-challenge, low-threat classroom to optimize student learning.

General and special education personnel will increase knowledge of disability categories, collaboration between general education and special education, implementing the IEP in the general education setting, special education law within the contenx of general education and appropriate grading practices when modifications / accommodations are used.

Overview
Designed for professionals (teachers, consultants, psychologists, etc.) working with students with ASD, participants will review current definitions and educational guidelines for determination; understand what comprises a comprehensive evaluation; differentiate between ASD and other conditions; and learn to transfer results of testing into appropriate placement and teaching practices.
