Vibrations of beam with granular damping model
and parameter estimation

We present results of measurements of the vibrations of a beam
with granular material. The granular material was located inside a sleeve
which was wrapped around the beam, and in which the pressure was below
atmospheric pressure. A simple mathematical model for the damping of the
vibrations is presented, too, and compared to the experimental results.
