Online Programs Defined
Oakland University offers a growing number of online program that range from partially to 100% online. 
There are many different definitions of what constitutes an online program.  The following will help you understand how online learning is defined at Oakland University:
  
100% online

Programs that are offered 100% online conduct all of the classroom hours online. Any synchronous aspects of the course will be listed in the schedule of classes.

If any part of a 100% online course requires the student to come to campus, an online or ‘local to the student’ alternative will be made available.  

Synonyms: Fully online, Distance education, Fully at a distance, Online program

partially online

If a program is offered partially online, that means that there is some combination of online and on-campus coursework. Partially online programs at Oakland University are 50-99% online. 

Synonyms: Hybrid, Blended, Partially at a distance

100% and partially online

Some programs are offered both 100% online and partially online, either option is available to the student.
