OUWB Cost of Attendance
How your Cost of Attendance is Determined
The Cost of Attendance is developed in accordance with federal regulations, using average expenses that a student might incur. It is the budget that the school will use to determine the maximum amount of financial assistance that a student may receive from all sources during a specific enrollment period.
The tuition component includes an OUWB portable computing device, health and disability insurance and recreation center membership.
Financial Assistance may only be used to pay for reasonable educational expenses of the student. The funds are not to be used to pay for the expenses of other family members or dependents.
If a student’s expenses exceed the school budget, the student must find resources independent of federal and institutional aid, such as help from family, friends or income earned from work, to cover those costs.
Graduate Plus Loan fees are approximated based upon the difference between the cost of attendance and the annual direct loan limit.
Federal Loan Facts
Federal Direct Unsubsidized loans
- 6.8% fixed interest rate.
- 1.051 % loan origination fee (effective March 1, 2013).
- Combined aggregate limit is $224,000 (includes all Federal FFEL and Direct student loans previously borrowed).
- Interest begins accruing from time of loan disbursement.
- Annual borrowing limit ranges between $42722 and $47166 dependent upon length of enrollment and previous borrowing history.
Federal Graduate Plus loan
- 7.9% interest rate.
- 4.204% origination fee (effective March 1, 2013).
- Interest begins accruing at time of disbursement.
- Must not have an adverse credit history as defined by the Department of Education.
- Annual limit is the difference between the cost of attendance, minus all other aid.
- No aggregate or total borrowing limit.
