What to expect at an OUWB Interview Day

Breakfast and Introductions

Faculty and staff greet you in the OUWB Medical Library Study Room where your day begins with a continental breakfast and an introduction to the Oakland University William Beaumont School of Medicine.

Welcome and Overview

Hear all about the OUWB School of Medicine including curriculum, student services, and admissions.  Whenever his schedule allows, Dr. Robert Folberg, Founding Dean, meets with you to answer your questions about the OUWB School of Medicine.  His visits are among the highest rated features of the day!

Tour: Oakland University

Tour the beautiful Oakland University campus with visits to the Center for Medical Student Services, student study spaces, OU Recreation Center, and the Medical Library Study Room.

Team Based Learning (TBL) Exercise

You and your fellow interviewees will join one of our master educators for a Team-Based Learning exercise. TBL is one of the many learning modalities used by OUWB and you will be given the opportunity to participate in a session to get a feel for the school.

All Aboard!

We’ll jump on a charter bus for a quick trip to Royal Oak – home to Beaumont’s largest hospital with over 1,000 beds.

Lunch 

Enjoy lunch in an informal setting. 

Interviews

Each applicant is scheduled for two separate interviews with faculty members or deans.  Both interviews will take place at Beaumont Royal Oak.   

Tour: Beaumont Hospital - Royal Oak

An OUWB student will lead you on a tour of the hospital. We think you’ll be impressed by this major academic and referral center with Level I trauma status.

Wrap-Up Session

You will have an opportunity to ask any questions of Dean Grabowski before returning to OU to end your day.
