HRD Organizations

HRD Honor Society/ Professional Society is an organization for students in the HRD major/minor at Oakland University. The purpose of the organization is to enhance the professional development of current students through networking, expanding professional contacts, and provide peer/faculty support to all members. 



HRDHS/PS Member Qualifications:

  • Must be a full- or part-time student at OU
  • Participate in a minimum of eight volunteer hours per semester (meetings, activities, and fundraising events)
  • Pay a one time membership fee of $25
  • Submit a membership application and professional goal statement
To be a part of the Honor Society, you must have obtained at least 12 credits in HRD courses and have a 3.7 overall GPA in HRD classes.
If you don't meet the requirements for the Honor Society, you can join the Professional Society and work up to Honor Society status.
