Financial Services Checklist
JANUARY
- Complete next year’s FAFSA. Estimate the tax information by using the previous year’s tax information.
- Check eBill – has your financial aid for winter paid?
- Do you have a remaining balance? Should you sign up for a payment plan?
FEBRUARY
- Review the summer application to determine summer financial aid eligibility
- If eligible for summer aid and planning to take summer classes, submit application to Financial Aid
MARCH
- Select classes for summer, next fall and winter semesters.
- Prepare for registration at the end of the month
- Update next year’s FAFSA with accurate tax information
APRIL
- Review your award notification
- Compare your award amount to your estimated cost of attendance – will it cover your costs?
- Submit a revision form to make changes to your awards or housing plans
- Complete Federal Direct Loan Entrance Counseling and Master Promissory Note at studentloans.gov
- Check MySAIL for requirements – download forms, visit websites, etc.
- Turn in any requirements to Student Financial Services
MAY
- Check MySAIL for requirements and the status of any documents you submitted in April
- Check your OU email
- Submit a revision form to make changes to your awards or housing plans
- Visit OUCareerLink.com and start applying for on-campus employment
JUNE
- Check MySAIL for requirements and the status of documents you already submitted
- Check your OU email account
- Submit a revision form to make changes to your awards or housing plans
- Continue applying for on-campus jobs at OUCareerLink.com
JULY
- Check MySAIL for requirements and the status of documents you already submitted
- Check your OU email account
- Submit a revision form to make changes to your awards or housing plans
- Continue applying for on-campus jobs at OUCareerLink.com
AUGUST
- Check eBill for your fall balance – do you have enough financial aid to cover your bill?
- Submit a revision form to make changes to your awards or housing plans
- Check MySAIL for requirements and the status of documents you already submitted
- Check your OU email account
- Continue applying for on-campus jobs at OUCareerLink.com
SEPTEMBER
- Check eBill – has your financial aid for fall paid? Do you have a remaining balance? Should you sign up for a payment plan?
OCTOBER
- Check eBill, MySAIL and OU email for any changes that may have occurred after the start of classes
NOVEMBER
- Check MySAIL for requirements for the winter semester and complete them
- Check winter registration – make sure your expected enrollment on MySAIL's financial aid matches the number of credits for which you are actually enrolled
- Do you need to make changes to your winter awards or housing plans? Submit a revision form.
DECEMBER
- Check MySAIL for requirements in the winter semester and the status of documents you already submitted.
